testing out the new boards
So there may not be any snow out my door, but there is the man made kind at the Nordic venue here in Canmore, Alberta.
I am here with my team getting some training in before the big trial races in Minnesota in the next few weeks. There are also North American Cup races going on here this coming weekend. I will be able to get one of the two races in. I am excited about the chance to get a race in before the trial races begin.
As always, it feels great to be on snow again. I feel pretty lucky to be out here where snow isn\'t abundant but there is at least skiing. It sounds like there are very few places across North America that have natural snow. All the more reason to do your snow dance, daily!
cheers,

Heber City, Utah
I am here with the Women’s National Biathlon Team for a three week training camp. We are training most days at the 2002 Olympic Venue, Soldier Hollow. They have an amazing rollerski loop out here and a beautiful range.
I am not going to lie, being in Utah in October is not a bad thing. The weather is amazing! Beautiful blue skis, cool mornings that slow warm up to crisp Fall days. It is really hard to beat. Besides the weather, it is also great to be able to get some altitude training in before the seasons starts.
We have a pretty busy schedule throughout the entire camp, including two rollerski biathlon races at the end of next week. I think it is going to be an intense camp but one that, once completed, I will feel very happy to have gotten through. It is kind of the last full block of intense training before the racing season begins. Hard to believe that winter is so close and the racing season is right behind it!
Here’s to a snowy winter, warm bowls of Grandy Oats, fast skiing and straight shooting!
Cheers,
BethAnn

mmm granola!
Recently, a customer had a visit from an unexpected breakfast guest! Over the summer, a window was left open and a bear was able to break in and feast on 10 lbs of granola that was ready for the morning. Although we\'d like to pride ourselves on appealing to a pontentially discerning wildlife pallet, it should be noted that he consumed a fair amount of Cinnamon Toast Crunch as well!
